Texas Federation of Women's Clubs

2312 San Gabriel Street, Austin TX 78705

The Texas Federation of Women's Clubs (TFWC Mansion) has been at the epicenter of the Austin swing dancing community since the late 90's. Completed in 1931 "The Fed" is a legitimate mansion, complete with big beautiful dance floors and stunning decor. The Fed has a lot of history that predates the modern Swing revivial. Local troops were entertained here during World War II and jazz greats such as Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman once graced its ballroom. In its rooms you can find an elegance fitting of the jazz era. It is a Texas Historic Landmark, an Austin Historic Landmark and on the National Register of Historic places and is the main venue for Hot Rhythm Holiday. All classes and dances will be held at the Fed.
